Campus Parks

Rosenblum Park Redevelopment
Rosenblum Park Redevelopment

The construction of campus parks is done in concert by the Public Building Commission, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park District, and the City of Chicago, following Mayor Richard M. Daley's goal of replacing concrete and asphalt with green grass and open spaces. Campus parks are anchored by local public schools and can feature playgrounds, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and running tracks.

Some campus parks can provide for outdoor learning through gardening classes, science projects and summer job programs. Working with the community to design and develop the individual parks, the PBC continues to increase vital recreation space and foster a shared sense of pride in the improvements to the City's neighborhoods.
