Since its inception in 1956, the Public Building Commission has enhanced education, safety and recreation across Chicago by building or renovating hundreds of schools, libraries, parks, fire houses, police stations and other public facilities such as the Daley Center, Millennium Park and the award-winning Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy, 31st Street Harbor and Ping Tom Memorial Park Fieldhouse. Through such ambitious initiatives as Building a New Chicago, PBC continues to build new facilities that enhance communities across the City of Chicago and Cook County. The PBC oversees these projects on behalf of its clients: the City of Chicago, Cook County, the Chicago Public Library, the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District and City Colleges of Chicago.

The PBC is committed to client service and strong stewardship of public resources, and plans, designs and builds facilities that reflect the highest standards of environmental and economic sustainability. The PBC's vision is a built environment in which function, beauty and sustainability are inherent to every community; where physical surroundings inspire and support achievement of the individual goals of those who live, work and visit Chicago and Cook County; and, where people gather to share the common values that truly build our communities.

To accomplish its mission, the PBC hires individuals for a variety of positions, offering competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to participate in shaping the City of Chicago's public facilities and its future.

Opportunities are posted on the PBC's Web page, www.pbcchicago.com Those interested in pursuing those vacancies can respond by sending query letters and resumes to jobs@pbcchicago.com. Questions regarding jobs opportunities also may be directed to this email address.
