Work Site Opportunities
The Public Building Commission is committed to having residents who live in the community work on the projects being built in their community. The PBC has contract provisions that require at least 50% of the labor force be local residents.
When a contract for a General Contractor (GC) for a project is awarded , the PBC will work with the contractor to establish the number of positions available to the community based on the manpower schedule for the project. The General Contractor will then work with the PBC to set up an application process that will provide experienced community residents the opportunity to apply for the available jobs.
Dawson Technical Institute is another opportunity for residents who want a career in construction.
