Project Description:
The Program includes the furnishing and installation of an estimated 317 replacement Window Air Conditioning units (ACs) and an estimated 1,156 new ACs at 35 schools. ACs will be installed in exiting panels (where appropriate for replacement ACs) or new panels and hardware fabricated and installed in accordance with CPS standards. Program includes providing electrical infrastructure and upgrading electrical infrastructure and service as required to bring power to the ACs. Work to be performed in conformity with CPS construction standards (including standards for environmental abatement and or mitigation as required).
The PBC has divided the Program into several procurements. PBC will negotiate and contract separately for the purchase of the AC units, as well as, for the panel fabrication and installation of the window AC units. The PBC seeks competitive bids for the remaining electrical infrastructure scope, which includes upgrading electrical infrastructure and service as required to bring power to the ACs including environmental abatement and or mitigation as required. The electrical infrastructure scopes have been divided into 3 bid packages (Projects) assembled by geographic region.
Bid Opening:
Sealed responses shall be submitted and received at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200 until 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, and then and there publicly opened. Note: Date has been extended.
Pre-Bid Meeting:
A pre-bid meeting will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 1:00 p.m. Second Floor Boardroom, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington. Contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers are invited to attend to meet the pre-qualified firms bidding on this contract.
